dear doctor b ive recently been started on a homeopatic treatment given to me by a practitioner , a stomach tonic he said its not in good shape . i suffer from reflux oesophagitis with severe oesophagal ulceration . i stopped the proton pump inhibitors i was on as i was having no success with the treatment.ive been on the stomach tonic for a week and my reflux symptoms are worse than they have ever been before also quite severe pain and spasm from my oesophagas is occurring ive spoken to the practioner and he told me abruptly not to worry about it but do you think there is cause for concern.

Yes, there is definetly cause for concern. Not just because your complaints have worsened but basically because there is no such thing as 'stomach tonic' in Homeopathy. Whatever such tonics are available in the market have multiple medicines in them and should be ideally called herbal tonics. Homeopathy is not the right word for it. Homeopathy is a science that works on some definet set of principles. It works on the basic premise that the 'person' who has the illness has to be treated, not just his/her disease. And we can not 'treat' a person with tonics, we need specific remedies for that. I would suggest that you should change your homeopath as soon as possible.
