Ive decided to treat myself with homeopathy although it is more complex than I initially thought (Im taking the course-its a great help-thank you!). Since I have NO experience (but just one case which I know very well and care about) I will most probably try more than one remedy-the hit and see method.Would any changes occur right after first dose if at all or few doses are required-the usual recommendation is 3 x day for 3 days?
Do you wait with administering the next remedy if the first one doesnt work?

Dear Anna,

Well! well! what do we have here? A lady with NO experience in homeopathy, trying to treat herself! Even trained homeopaths prefer their cases to be taken by other homeopaths because it is difficult to chose a remedy for yourself. If you are trying to treat some acute, it is fine. But if you are trying to treat some chronic condition yourself, I would discourage it. Homeopathy medicines are not so safe that you can play with them. You may actually get HIT in the hit and see method. You can end up creating more problems for yourself. Seek professional guidance for your case.

The repetition of the medicine depends upon the medicine (deep acting or not), type of case (acute/chronic), the potency used, and the sensitivity of the patient. There is no fixed rule of 3 times a day. There are times when a medicine in 1M potency can be given 3 times a day and there are times when 1 dose will work for a year!
The action of the remedy depnds upon the condition, patient, medicine, and potency. It can not be foretold when you will experience any change in your condition. Still you should give any medicine atleast a month before you throw it in dustbin. Only then you should try another remedy. And if you see positive changes, you should stick to the remedy and should not repeat as long as the improvement continues. But I must say, it is not easy to judge the action of any remedy. Even professionals faulter very often.

I would again urge you to seek professional help.
Wishing you health,
Dr. B
