IS HOMEOPATHY A GOOD AVENUE TO TRY AS A TREATMENT FOR ALOPECIA AREATA?
Have you ever heard of Dr. Salar Faramand, a homeopathic doctor, I was considering using for my 19 year old son who has had alopecia areata for over a year and a half?
Any info. would be appreciated concerning his condition. Thank you.

Dear Lori,
I have not heard of Dr. Salar but I can tell you that homeopathy is probably the BEST avenue for treatment of Alopecia areata. We do get good results in this condition. Homeopathy in general works well in autoimmune diseases. Alopecia areata is considered an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system, which is designed to protect the body from foreign invaders such as viruses and bacteria, mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, the tiny cup-shaped structures from which hairs grow. This can lead to hair loss on the scalp and elsewhere.
Wishing health to your son,
Dr. B
