| The answers that follow are
not complete. It is not possible to write a whole thesis on each
one as it requires everything that has been said before, but I will
express the basic ideas.
On the other hand these short answers can
inspire serious students to ask more questions such as whether,
in a chronic case, the appearance of an acute condition that may
arise after the remedy, is a good or a bad sign, or when should
such condition be treated and when not, or when will a case need
a series of remedies in a particular order and when will such a
practice confuse the case to such an extent that the patient has
no hope of recovery.
On another level the questions that may arise
from intelligent students can continue the discussion to a deeper
understanding of the problems that we are facing when we practice
serious and not superficial homeopathy.

Dear Dr. Vithoulkas,
My homeopath told me that homeopathy doesn't lessen the effectiveness
of chemotherapy but can greatly help the negative side effects.
Yet doctors here refuse to allow their patients to use homeopathy
in fear that it will counteract the chemo. Could you please explain
why and how homeopathy eliminates the negative effects but allows
the positive effects to continue?
Best,
Barbara
Dear Barbara,
Giving homeopathy together with chemotherapy
is good. In any case it will not harm, in the best case it will
improve the overall condition of the patient. The problem is you
will never know what did what?

Hello! My granddaughter, 7 April10, has had no immunizations. A
daughter living in France, has worked with a wonderful Homeopath
who uses a method whereby she administers 1/2 doses, I believe,
and Homeopathic products to minimize any 'bad effects'. While I
am sure our kids are over 'immunized', and her mother would not
agree to all the many shots physicians insist they need, (space)I
still am very concerned that she has no immunity[?] against things
like Diphtheria, Meningitis. What do you recommend as a course of
action, please? Thus far her pediatrician has gone along with the
child's mom because the child is apparently very healthy. I do hope
that you will settle this for us at long last.
Sincerely, Amelia
Dear Amelia,
This is a very serious question for which
I do not have the answer. I have spoken extensively in my teachings
about this matter and also I wrote my thoughts in the Science
of Homeopathy (I have a chapter there). We do not have vaccinations
in homeopathy in the sense that there is in allopathic medicines.
Meaning you are immunized today and you are protected, if after
a year or two the epidemic comes.

My question for Dr. Vithoulkas is..
I have been suffering with nasal polyps for about 6 or 7 years.
After one surgery, which didn't do anything, I started seeing an
homeopathic MD, who recommended I see a therapist because he thought
my health problems stemmed from my emotions. I have been seeing
both the homeopath and the therapist now for about 3 years. I still
have the nasal polyps. Is this normal in homeopathy to take so long
in healing polyps? And, can homeopathy in fact cure nasal polyps?
With many thanks,
Lola Padula
Dear Lola,
I cannot see the connection between polyps
and emotions neither I have ever heard that a polyps could disappear
with psychoanalysis!
It needs to find the right remedy.

Dear George Vithoulkas,
Thank you for this opportunity to ask a question. My question is
this:
Do you believe it possible to treat heart attacks and heart disease
with homeopathy? Do you have any experience of treating such disease?
Do you know of any homeopaths in the UK who are experienced in treating
heart disease?
Thank you in anticipation,
Pam Hemmings LWSH MARH
Dear Pam,
To generalize in this way is not correct.
The success of treatment depends on the level of general health
of the individual. I have given precise information about this matter
in my teachings but it is too complicated to enter into this discussion.

My question is about re-using bottles and syringes. I treat my pets
(5 cats and a horse) at times with homeopathy, and it is so much
easier to administer the remedies if they are in liquid solution,
rather than trying to manipulate the little pellets, into an animal
that may be opposed to the idea, without touching them. I have heard
from some sources that the syringes/bottles should not be re-used;
can they be if they are cleaned with alcohol, boiling, and more
alcohol, or just run through a normal dishwashing. What is the truth?
If washing isn't enough, is there an energetic 'zap' that will negate
the remedy's original energy in the material? I do use dark glass
for the bottles, and regular plastic syringes without the needle.
I'm not sure how much heat the plastic will take. I would use glass
droppers, but you don't want broken glass if the animal gets excited
and bites it.
thank you,
Barbara Money
Foster, RI
Dear Barbara,
Warming up the bottles to 200 degrees C.
will be enough.

When prescribing as a new practitioner I still find it a bit of
a challenge with potency. I have been using some 200c and Q's, and
having really great success with the Q's and not so with a single
dose 200c. Is this because, as evolving beings we need more stimuli
to cure, or is it that a single dose is no longer the optimum.
Margaret Connell (dip Hom NZ 2007)
Dear Margaret,
The high potencies are many times inactive
and you need to try another pharmacy.

Can homeopathy be used safely along with herbal remedies, or should
they only be used separately? I was under the impression that it
is possible to combine these therapies, for instance in treating
cystitis. Is it preferable to just take the constitutional remedy
for the patient as an ongoing treatment, or to review this frequently,
in case the constitutional remedy for the person is not the right
one? Presumably self-diagnosis for the right constitutional remedy
is as easy as if being chosen by a homeopath, if all factors on
the mental, physical, emotional, are examined and cross examined
closely?
Jo Dalietos
Dear Jo,
Pure classical homeopathy requires a lot
of study, but then you will not need to rely on other forms of medication
. When someone cannot find the correct remedy, he needs other measures
as well for support.

Hello George Vithoulkas,
Help, Please. I have a case which doesn't seem to respond to anything.
It’s a cat, 10 yr old female with chronic viral bronchitis
which seems to get secondary bacterial infections. She has a croaky
voice to complete loss of voice and a few dental caries according
to the traditional Vet. He calls this Bronchitis. She has been treated
with doxycycline which stopped the symptoms, however 10 days after
stopping, the symptoms of cough gagging decreased appetite, mucky
eyes, infrequent dry cough and apathy returned. She was a c/section
and her mother died after birth from hemorrhage. She has a great
personality, jumps from the floor to your shoulder without claws
stuck in to stay in the conversation, loves to play, loves high
spaces, avoids being covered up but will sit on her owners knee
and loves a pat. Usually highly strung, will run when frightened,
clever, (hides when her owner packs a case, in case she is going
too) alert, dislikes uncontrolled changes, loud noises. Not a big
eater and always slender and picky about her diet. Fretful and hissy
with other cats and cat smells around, she annoys the other cat
by lying on her and over washing her.
I've tried Nat Mur LM, Hep Sulf 200, Sil 200, Ars Alb 200, euph
perf 200, Merc rud iod 200 when she had a smell about her mouth,
this stopped the black tarry offensive stools she would frequently
have and the smell but not the cat flu symptoms. She has also had
Lac Can lm from another homoeopath. Hope you don't mind me presenting
a case to you. Have you got any ideas?
Glenda
Dear Glenda
My knowledge about animals is minimal! I
am the wrong person to ask.

Sir,
This is the case of a 7 year old boy who stammers. He does not
stutter on the first syllable but fills his mouth with air and the
word comes out forcefully after a few seconds. In addition there
is a jerky movement of his neck. As he warms up to a topic his flow
of speech is almost normal.
He loves to sit in the clinic by himself either reading or with
puzzle books. He likes word puzzles, like unscrambling letters.
He loves to talk about what interests him. He says he is not good
in drawing so does not draw.
He loves to eat ice, loves sour - lemons, oranges are his favourite.
His memory is weak. He does not remember at what time his school
starts. He says at 7 am when the school starts at 8.30 am. He talks
about the largeness and greenery of Australia but does not remember
he visits his uncle.
The child is delicate looking, he also complains of pain in the
forehead, neck and soles of his feet. He cannot qualify further.
He loves one chicken dish, sweets +++, cold seven up, sprite etc.
He is fussy about eating normal food - rice, chapati, dal and vegetables.
This child takes the school bus home. Sometimes the parents have
to pick up the children. On one such occasion, his father was late
and he has not forgotten it. The mother says that the stutter got
worse since then. He does not like to be alone. He has to have someone
in the room with him. He is very articulate and says he has no other
fear other than that he will not be picked up. He has a younger
sister whom he has taken to beating and pinching. He says he plays
outdoor games, but I did not get the picture of a child who is into
rough and tumble games. On the 2nd of April he has parents' pick
up day again and he is refusing to go to school form the 27th of
March itself. He says maybe the petrol will run out in the car....maybe.....they
cannot come and pick me up.
The child stays in a joint family with the maternal grandparents.
The father travels a lot because of business. I thought that this
child has the delusion of being forsaken and chose Stram. I gave
Stram 30 one dose. But how do I tell if this is fear of being frightened
like Aconite.
Sincerely,
Syamala
Dear Syamata.
Remedy to study is Veratrum album.

Dear editor,
Thank you so much for the opportunity to ask questions to George
Vithoulkas.
One thing that puzzled me recently is the use of the plussing technique.
I have been on homeopathic treatment on and off for 20 years and
I noticed that my body seems to respond very well to the unique
200c dose given once in a while. In short, acute crises, the 30
c is also very valuable. The 1M blows me out in space and the plussing....
I tried to take Lyc. with the plussing technique. At first, I saw
all the good signs: a slight aggravation, a return of old symptoms
in reverse order of their appearance, and a feeling of emotional
well being. I was given 30 doses to take for a month, one dose a
day. On the tenth day, however, I developed a cold with sore throat.
I was put temporarily on Rhus tox and that helped me out of the
cold. I stopped Lyc for a couple of days and then I re-started.
Then I realized that my body, somehow, did not want the Lyc. anymore.
I don't know how to explain the feeling. It was a feeling of antipathy,
of rejection for the drug. (Maybe I am just a nutcase!). Anyway,
I stopped the daily doses. So I got to 13 doses in all, out of 30.
From then on my menses which have always been regular went into
total chaos: first too late, then too early; then spotting; scanty;
profuse; prolonged; unstoppable leucorrhoea; a feeling of pre-menstrual
bloating for the whole month; pre-menstrual irritation gone and
replaced by depression.
I felt guilty. I thought I should not have stopped and started the
Lyc, and what was I to do now. The homeopath I saw lives in another
country. Then, interestingly, a friend of mine told me she had the
same effect from the plussing. She was given a different remedy
for different symptoms and she completed the treatment. She took
all the 30 doses. Now her menstruations are totally irregular.
Please, can you throw some light on this matter?
Thanks a lot
Stefania
Dear Stefania
These are intelligent questions and a lot
of people will have different ideas. It will depend on the organism
to which potency reacts best and then follow this.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Dear Professor George Vithoulkas,
My question is concerning the homeopathic treatment for clinical
depression in an old man of very long duration - 25 years or more.
He has been treated by consultant homeopaths in India over many
years without satisfactory result. About three years ago, he was
given Arg nit 200c - one dose only - no result. Other homeopaths
have tried Ars alb also years ago. More recently, Aurum met 200
and most recently, Nat mur 30c tds and Phosphoric acid 200c once
a month. The patent in desperation has sought psychiatrist and psychotherapist
treatments. The latter was a waste of time. But only one type of
anti-depressant finally seemed to work for some weeks and there
was a short relapse and so on.
The patient is chilly, thirstless, perspires very little, cannot
sleep without Stilnoct 6.25 mgm and that also after more than an
hour. Likes hot (chilly) food, alcoholic drinks in moderation, very
fond of fried fish and chips (English), very fond of fatty food
and butter - although had cholecystectomy more than 50 years ago.
Mentally, very anxious even without cause, slightest sudden noise
causes a jerk inside, gets angry easily and always apologizes shortly
afterwards. Very caring for the plights of the underprivileged.
No pleasure in life - not even in classical Indian and Western music
that he loved so much. Looking forward to the end.
Suffers from eczema over a long time, benign prostate problem as
in most old men.
I shall be most grateful for your advice. By the way, my letter
supporting you was published by Homeopath (British Homeopathic Journal)
under Magic and Provings -2002
(91).
Amir Cassam
The case is not clear, for someone to prescribe
it needs a lot more details. Study Causticum, Nux-vom.?
Warm regards,
George Vithoulkas
