Dear Readers,
First of all, let me thank you for your feedback and votes for
the last month's poll question about publishing 'Homeopathy 4 Everyone'
on paper. Your feedback will help us in taking an appropriate decision
in near future.
A few days ago I was thinking, that the entire focus of medical
fraternity is on treating various diseases. The dollars doled out
for drugs far outnumber the dollars that are spent for preventing
diseases by improving the health of people in general. It seems
that the medical fraternity is not interested in 'health' but in
'diseases' and their 'treatment'. If you scrutinize the details
of the drug-disease industry closely, it would appear more like
an illegal cartel (of pharmaceutical companies, governing bodies,
doctors and governments) which is basically concerned about making
money. Let me give you an example. There are billions of people
who use tobacco products and alcohol. Everyone knows that they are
not good for health. Still, they remain readily available to anyone
who wants to use them and spoil his/her health. Why? One reason
is that the tobacco and alcohol industries generate so much revenue
for the governments. Another reason is the employment that they
generate. But at what cost? Millions suffer from their use every
year, many hundreds of thousands of people die; billions are spent
on medical research to develop drugs to fight their adverse effects;
their consumption leads to thousands of accidents and legal problems
every day and millions are spent to rectify these problems every
day!
Similar statistics can be provided for a large number of drugs
and treatments being offered by the medical community to the general
public. But apart from the 'statuary warnings' there is nothing
much that is done to remove many such fundamental factors responsible
for the increasing ill-health, from our society.
There are hardly any organizations in the world, whose sole focus
is on improving health-awareness for the masses. The world today
needs a better education about what makes people ill. Why is there
an exponential growth in various diseases if medicine has advanced
so much? We need to introspect as to where we have gone wrong. Is
it our diet, our life-style, our food-habits, our increasing use
of medicines or something else? I know most people will answer,
it's a combination of all these factors. But what are we doing to
eliminate such factors? Hardly anything!
In future, we would like to use Hpathy.com as a platform for increasing
health-awareness too. If you have some great information/articles
related to healthy diet, food-habits, life-style, vaccination, mother
& child health, exercise, yoga and other ways to improve health
and prevent diseases, do send them to us at webmaster@hpathy.com
and we will share them with the 60,000 people who access Hpathy.com
every month.
Coming back to the June issue. This month we have again put our
focus on veterinary homeopathy with Edward De Beukelaer and Christina
Chambreau sharing some great information and cases related to veterinary
homeopathy. Chris Jorgenfelt shares his work on Thuja with repertorial
additions and an asthma case. Dr. Leela D'Souza continues her exploration
of the world of miasms with her third article focusing on Vijayakar's
miasmatic approach and Joy Lucas also shares her insight on the
minerals of group 8. This month we have got our very own Elaine
Lewis on the Hot-Seat. I am sure you all are eager to know more
about her. This month we have also come up with an interesting poll
and would love to see a good response to this question which can
put many of us in a dilemma.
Last but not the least, do remember to check the result of our
last month's quiz and also send us your feedback about this journal
and the new Hpathy.com at editor@hpathy.com.
Yours sincerely,

-- Chief Editor --
