Hello to you all!
It has been a very emotional and exhausting several days for Sasha and myself!!
I wanted to update you all on my consultation with Dr. Glen Dupree today. First let me say he is an very nice man, and very easy to speak to..
He wanted to know absolutley everything about Sasha, from when I first met her till now, a lot of years of history I will say. He took over one hour on the phone with me. And oddly enough, during our consultation, asked me what changed in Sashas life last week, either physical, emotional, or hygniec. As he said Laryangeal Paralysis just does not get this severe overnight, which is very much how this all progressed to this point of life or death.
I have been wracking my brain to think of what could have set her off to be so dramatically bad as she is SEVERE! Anymore severe, and she will not be with me anylonger!
So anyway, he told me he was going to do an analysis of Sasha, had that he thought several remedies would help her, and that he would call me back before the end of the day. So OK.. I go downstairs to feed Sasha, and I notice that there was something on the floor next to her. Lo and behold, it was thick colored mucus.. my first thought was that she coughed it up and she is now getting pulminary adema. NO NO NO.. I check her over and it was not hard to see that she has this mucus discharging from her vaginal are!!!!!!!!!!! and alot too!!! I called Dr. Glen back immediately and as I thought,, PYOMETRA.. The first thing he said was Pyometra, which I know what it is and how severe it can be as my other dog had this last year this same time and had to be spayed in emergency!.. He said "this changes alot and makes things more complicated,, but that was our answer to what changed in her life last wed. She has an infection in her body!! I feel so badly for her!!!!!!!!!! And that i didnt catch this sooner. She was going thru a false pregnancy again,, playing mom to one of her toys all last week and i thought she was just in heat.. NOT...
so ...... this is the remedy she is on for the next 48 hours..
PHOSPHEROUS 30C , I let the pellets disolve in 1 1/2 ounces of water as he said, then i put 5 cc's in a syringe and shot it in her mouth..
Then he also prescribed
ACONITE 30C Disolved the same way for anxiety crisis breathing and I am to give her that 5cc or 10 cc.. every 3 - 5 minutes until her symptoms subside..
then he also prescribed:
CARBO VEG 30c. I have that on hand and give the same way, if she goes into crisis mode, meaning passes out on me.. again every 3 -5 min .. till she comes around..
I have to call him in 48 hours. IF she has any changes, I call him immediatley then.
Please.. tell me what you think...
Do you think the Phospherous will take care of the Pyometra... isnt this a life or death situation..?? I called her regular vet as well, and I have to take a urine sample in the a.m. and bring it to the office... I told Dr,. Glenn and he said it was a good idea to have her regular vet too.. I want to take Sashas temp. but I dont want to set her breathing off .. she is finally settled and sleeping soundly.. breathing easy...
UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH .... what a day for the poor thing!!
I keep giving her over to Jesus for I know that everything is in HIS hands..
Thanks so much for all of you giving input and your best wishes!!!!!!!!!!!
It really has meant alot to me to be able to come here for advice and your support...
Many blessings...
Kim
