Topic: cobra bite what remedy? Posted: 08 June 05 at 20:31 |
Dear members please any suggestion
I am the homeopath long distance for the Bali Crisis Center ,just got notice that a 6yr old girl was bit on her leg by a cobra in the night as she slept. symptoms ; throbbing pain, leg swollen like a football, two puncture wounds.....that is all that was given as symptoms.(the cobra is dead, her family killed it........)
The family took her to a hindu priest not knowing how to help her,she is still alive........there is a box of homeopathic remedies that Dr. Leea has sent to this clinic so remedies are there just not all of them.
any suggestions.....or you can go directly on the crisiscare website to post www.balicrisiscare.org (look under miracles do happen on main page of website)
Contact myself or the owner 'gloria'........thank you for your help.

Hi
Can you get any more symptoms? The puncture wounds would suggest Ledum,
but the swelling and throbbing...maybe belladonna. Can you get anymore
info? About her general state? the sensation of pain? does it feel cold
to her? Are her eyes dilated. What is her general state? I would love
to help, but need more detail.

Dear Trulli
Its all over......thanks for your reply it was the only one on this forum,i was surprized. Perhaps no one has any expierence with snake bites (toxic ones that is) The otherhealth forum i posted the same and it comes down to the big question ; DOES HOMEOPATHICS DETOX THE VENOM FROM A COBRA ? Personally i dont know........ anyone?
Otherhealth forum did mention that Homeopathics does not work in the case of venom from snakes. I suppose i really dont know for sure.

Although I now live in the states I came originally from a country
which has a lot of snakes. The thing with Cobras as with most snakes is
that they do not emit venom with every bite. It is quite possible to
experience a nasty Cobra bite and not to die because no venom was
injected.

Ledum is a remedy for snake bites, so is Lachesis, and in this case, the cobra itself, Naja. A very high potency might be needed; at least 1M, possibly 10M.

Dear snoopy
Thank for your imput,do you have a link to this so i can verify it works 100%,and have you dealt with this firsthand or know anyone (homeopaths) i can contact to get more info.
I do have all the books, provings done My favorite is called'Therapeutics of the serpent poisons by john h. Clark, B. Jain publishers
All writen in 1828 the first to write about this was Hering (lachesis)A few other homeopaths besides him did the provings taking 30th potency. None were actually bit........................
Over and over it speaks of this and that proving on crotalus, lachesis, naja, elaps, vipera and bothrops. Not once the mention of'a person gets a snake bite that has venom and we used this remedy and then this or that happened'.

Great article and am glad to read it as it logically addresses the question we had so much heated debate about quite sometime back.
Incidentally, it proves my point as the bottomline - you can't use homeopathy in cases of life threatening poisoning e.g. bitten by a cobra. Tried & tested anti-venoms are your only safe bet.
Once the storm is over, we can take help from homeopathy to resolve any issues left.
I love to read articles about homeopathy that handle critical issues head-on instead of shying away from the real answer.
Good work Dr. B.
