| We invite
you to send in your favorite Tips and Secrets on homeopathy.
We will publish a select group each month, acknowledging the sender.
They may be based on your own experience or taken from homeopathic
literature. Please identify the source of your information and your
name and country. Send your tips to us at Alanheal@aol.com
Remember, a tip is not the whole
iceberg! Use these tips as part of a totality of symptoms. Let them
inspire further research. Using specifics ("take this for that")
in isolation may prove disappointing and can lead to suppression.
These
are the tips of our readers and do not necessarily express the views
of Hpathy.com or 'Homeopathy 4 Everyone'.

Hold that Surgery!
I have never done better work with any remedy in valvular heart
disease than with Spongia. Valvular murmurs of years’ standing
have disappeared under the action of Spongia. “Awakes out
of sleep with a sense of suffocation, violent, loud cough, great
alarm, anxiety and difficult respiraton” is a keynote. Cannot
lie with head low, sleeps into the paroxysm.

Taking the Right Symptoms
Hahnemann wrote of a morbific influence resulting in a mistuned
vital force, and this "mistunement" is then expressed
through various limiting symptoms. The morbific influence may be
described through a "story" of past stresses, whereas
the resulting symptoms express how a person's vital force has become
imbalanced. The limiting symptoms of the imbalanced vital force
form a solid foundation for choosing the homeopathic prescription.
When choosing a remedy for a client, it's easy to be confused into
matching the remedy with the "morbific story" (abuse,
trauma, abandonment, etc.) rather than the limiting symptoms which
developed as a result. In order to avoid losing sight of what needs
to be cured: 1) be careful to distinguish between the morbific story
and the person's symptoms, and 2) also distinguish between limiting
symptoms (fears, anger, grief, attendant physical complaints) vs.
non-limiting symptoms (sympathetic, affectionate, caring, energetic,
etc.). The focus must remain on the constellation of limiting and
maladaptive symptoms which are NOT serving the "higher purposes
of one's existence".

Some Basic Axioms
Remedies operate as by contagion. He caught the disease, and catches
the cure.
- Leave names of diseases out when prescribing. They are only for
the foolish and for the boards of health. The disease is not to
be named but to be perceived; not to be classified but to be viewed,
that the very nature of it may be discovered.
- Susceptibility is only a name for a state that underlies all possible
sickness and all possible cure.
- When a dose is too large to cure, man receives it as sickness.
- The tendency of the human mind to run after things visible, that
can be felt with the fingers, leads one to adopt foolish theories
like the Bacteria doctrine and the Molecular theory.

Seeing is Believing
"Astute observation is a prime necessity for the homeopath
. . . There is a saying that if the patient says one thing and the
gesture is contrary, believe the gesture".

as Art and Science" p. 41 -Thanks to David Johnson- U.S.
Ledum
Coldness: Injured parts: (Normally injured parts are hot) Total
Drugs : 1 - Ledum palustre 3- Highest Grade. Wounded parts feel
cold to touch, and to the patient, and yet the pains are relieved
by cold.
There is coldness of the body generally, or of some parts only.
As if cold water were poured over them.

Causticum
Cannot cough deep enough to start the mucus. This inability to
expectorate is found in every species of cough; whooping cough,
etc. The patient has a rather odd sensation, one not frequently
met with, a feeling of an empty space between the brain and the
cranial bones - relieved by warmth. -- Causticum

Physician Know Thyself
"Hahnemann had a wonderful knowledge of the human heart, and
this is an important thing; a knowledge of the human heart, a knowledge
of the things that are in man. . . To know the human heart well
is largely to examine into oneself and ascertain what one's own
impulses are, what one is compelled to do under varying circumstances,
what impulses one has to control in oneself in order to become fully
human. . . In time the physician who does this will become so well
acquainted with the human heart that he has sympathy and knows what
constitutes the language of the affections."
